Teaching - Peace Corps style

The struggle continues for New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina, this time, for its schools.
Becky Bohrer, in a Northwest Herald article, reported that New Orleans schools are in desperatre need of teachers. Even before the disastrous Katrina hit, the schools had a shortage of teachers.
Described as a "Peace Corps-style adventure," the Recovery School District and Teach Louisiana are seeking to fill positions for the 2007-2008 school year when more schools are expected to be open. The district is even working with local real estate agents to aid candidates seeking affordable housing. The website offers information on how to secure Louisiana certification as well as other continuing education resources for teachers.
If you know a teacher who's looking for work, share the link.
