Alternatives to Research Papers

Sometimes it's difficult being a teacher particularly when you're class just isn't ready to write a research paper.

I'm not talking about the ones who complain about writing the paper or doing the research.

Let's focus on the students that haven't yet developed the skills necessary to pull the crucial elements together.

Jim Douglas, Director of the Conant Library in Massachusetts has developed a list of "Alternatives to Research Papers" for instructors to use.

This list of suggested assignments is aimed at helping "students develop the skills needed to efficiently find, critically evaluate, effectively use, and clearly communicate information."
