The annual Skyway Writers Festival and Competition is upon us. It will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, 1:30-5:30 PM, at Morton College. This event is FREE and open to students and guests from any of the sponsoring Skyway Consortium Colleges. There will be an open mic session, workshops, a keynote address, and awards. As an integral part of this festival, there is a student writer competition in the categories of: fiction, poetry, drama/screenplay, and literary nonfiction. Each school in the conference is allowed to send 5 manuscripts in each category for judging in the final competition. The deadline for submission at CLC is NOON on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. Students wishing to enter a submission should turn them into:
