The CLC Library has a few new places for you to see us online. Besides Flickr, CLC Libraries is now using Twitter and Facebook!
What is Twitter you say?
“Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. People write short updates, often called "tweets" of 140 characters or fewer.” “Twitter Support.” 3 Sep 2009 <http://help.twitter.com/portal>. >
Another common description of Twitter is a micro-blog of tiny updates that you can subscribe to. Essentially, Twitter is another communication tool that we plan on using in order to let people know of useful library resources, links, and tips in 140 characters or fewer.
We have also created a Facebook fan page. If you are already using Facebook, by becoming a fan of this page you can see updates of what is going on at the CLC Libraries and see blog entries, twitter updates, and news, as well as use the links we have provided on the page to access resources at our libraries. If you aren’t using Facebook you can still see our page which is publicly viewable.
Our Flickr account has been around for a year and we will be continually adding more images to that site as well as setting up some material in Youtube for you to use as well..... We'll keep you updated as we add more to these new services and the new ways in which you can access the CLC libraries.
