Libraries are an important part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus Package)

The American Library Association’s Washington Office has prepared a brief summary of how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will impact libraries and educational institutions that offer opportunities for retooling. For many people, getting free training in information and technology skills necessary for finding and getting new jobs is offered only at their school, public, or community college
library. See how ARRA will support local libraries and other educational institutions by funding workforce training programs and the broadband technology expansion. Note that community college libraries are named along with public libraries in the funding.
