There is so much happening this weekend at the College of Lake County.
First, stop in at the Community Gallery of Art in the Library this afternoon to view fabulous handcrafted ceramic art, or come to the exhibit opening reception this evening at 7-9 pm. These events are the best kept secret, offering great music, refreshments, conversation, as well as the art itself. Follow this link for more information.
Also tonight at 7 pm, you can proceed from the Library down the main hallway toward the main entrance to the college, and attend the film showing, in Room A162. Screening tonight are a short independent films including some great selections that have already been acclaimed at major festivals like Sundance and Southwest.
If you are serious about the ceramic arts, or simply want insight into the process of making them, you can also attend the workshop on Saturday. Ted Neal, one of the artists whose work on display, will conduct a ceramics workshop at CLC on Saturday, September 6th, 2008. Call 847-543-2437 for information.
How can one choose among all these great events? I think I will try to get to them all. Hope to see you there.
