The Kite Runner

Author Khaled Hosseini spoke candidly about his first novel, The Kite Runner this morning at the ALA Conference. The novel describes life in Afghanistan with an honesty not present in other books on the subject. It reads like a memoir, and indeed Hosseini draws much from his own life in the creation of the characters and events.

Ask Kathleen to share with you more about Hosseini and his passion for helping displaced people from Afghanistan and worldwide, as well as his passion for writing.
